- Check local fire codes regarding use.
- Fill the belly with 1.5 inches of sand.
- SUGGESTED USE WITH FIRE LOGS (1/2 or 1/4 lengths)
- For burning wood instructions:
- Every time you have a fire, do it gradually using
newspapers and twigs to a low consistent heat.
- Never use accelerates to start fires.
- Never use water to put out your fire, let the
chiminea burn out naturally.
- Before transporting and/or storing your chiminea
remove all sand from the belly. DO NOT REMOVE SAND OR WATER BY
TURNING THE CHIMINEA UPSIDE DOWN. Instead scoop out the contents
with an appropriate apparatus (i.e. plastic cup).
- Never let the chiminea sit with water in it; terra
cotta drip trays make excellent lids.
- Chiminea should be completely dry before relighting.
- Over heating may cause discoloration and should be
repainted to protect the clay piece against the elements.
- Flames should not enter the stack of the chiminea,
the stack is for exhaust only.
- The chiminea should be at least ten feet away from
your house; all fires must be under the supervision of an adult.
NEVER LEAVE UNATTENDED.
- Chimineas are designed for small fires and should
never have more than two to three small pieces of wood burning at a
time.
- Clean out ash after every 2 to 3 fires. A
build up of ash will insulate the bottom and cause the chiminea to
crack and separate.
- The chiminea should be dry and well fired before
storing for the winter.
- The chiminea should be stored inside away from the
elements.
- The chiminea comes from a dry and arid country; use
with extra care during the rainy season.
- Keep the chiminea a safe distance away from any
combustible source.

STRAIGHT FORWARD. LET COMMON SENSE PREVAIL!
